Thusharagiri Waterfall

Thusharagiri waterfall is one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Malabar region of Kerala situated around 50km away from Calicut (Kozhikode) city. Two streams originating from the Western Ghats meet here to form the Chalippuzha River. The river diverges into three waterfalls creating a snowy spray, which gives the name, 'Thusharagiri'. Of these three waterfalls, the highest waterfall is the Thenpara that falls from an altitude of 75 metres. As the name suggests, land and water have struck an extraordinary kinship at Thusharagiri (mist capped peaks). The waterfalls on the backdrop of the Western Ghats provide an exhilarating and spellbinding sight to the visitor. The best roar of the waterfalls can be enjoyed from September to November.

The area is also excellent to study the evergreen forest ecosystem. Rich in wildlife, bird life and butterfly population, the area is teaming with life and ideal for the wildlife enthusiast. One of the main attractions of the Thusharagiri is Trekking. The place offers challenging trekking and rock-climbing through river path and numerous waterfalls.
