Malampuzha Garden

Malampuzha Garden is the ‘Vrindavan’ of Kerala located 10 km from Palakkad. Malampuzha comprises a dam and beautifully landscaped gardens, is situated on the lower hills of the Western Ghats. The town was so named after the river Malampuzha which is a tributary of Kerala’s longest river-The Bharathappuzha. This lush green town is a major tourist attraction in Kerala for its trekking trails and the large irrigation dam. The combination Western Ghats with the tranquil water of the reservoir created by Malampuzha Dam makes for one fascinating location in Kerala.

Malampuzha offers a variety of amusements with its wonderful blend of natural and man made elements. There are several rest spots scattered throughout the garden. Some of these spots are covered whereas others are left in the open. Malampuzha garden offers pedal-boat rides on an artificial canal. This endeavor is a great way to see the garden and also an excellent way to exercise. There is an aerial ropeway across the garden. The lush green lawns, innumerable flower beds, glittering pools, fountains and avenues spur the rosyness of ones mind. The dam and gardens are illuminated on Saturdays, Sundays and national holidays.
