Kadampuzha Bhagavathi Temple

Kadampuzha is famous for its Bhagavathi temple said to have been set up by Jagadguru Sankaracharya is in Malapuram District of Kerala is far from the bustle of city life. The deity here is goddess Durga, who, it is believed possesses immense curative and rewarding powers. The idol placed in the sanctum santorum, below several stairs, is small and always flower covered. The temple is very simple in architecture without any imposing edifices or gold-plated flag mast. The serene atmosphere and the divinity attribute to the Godess at Kadampuzha attract thousands of pilgrimís everyday. They unload their problems there and return carrying blessings. The major festival at Kadampuzha Bhagavathi Temple is Karthika, which is celebrated on Karthika star day of Malayalam month Vrichikam (November-December). During this day there is Annadhanam to over 10000 devotees.
