Palaruvi Waterfall

Palaruvi Waterfall is one of the famous waterfalls in South India and an important tourist attraction in Kollam situated near Kerala-Tamil Nadu border, 75 km away from Kollam town and 5 km from Aryankavu. Palaruvi means 'stream of milk' and it slender thread of water hurtling down from a height of about 300 feet. This water is known to be medicated as it flows down from the forest and is said to be a preventive for many diseases. So taking a bath in the pool of water formed by the waterfall will rejuvenate your soul. To get to the falls, one has to trek through narrow paths that run through the woods. The journey to Palaruvi through the dense tropical forest is a spellbinding experience. The surrounding mist-clad blue hills and green valleys form a stunning backdrop to the milk-white burst of foam whose muffled roar resounds through the otherwise tranquil virgin forest.

Besides bathing in the delightful waterfall, trekking is the main activity at Palaruvi which attracts a lot of tourists. Best time to visit this place is between June January months.
