Bolghatty Island

Bolghatty Island is a beautiful island near the Ernakulam built by the Dutch in the year 1744 A.D. The palace was once the Governor's palace for the Dutch and later became the home of the British Governors. This palace is situated amidst 15 acres of lush green lawns and now hotel run by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC). To reach the Island one can take a ferry ride from the mainland Ernakulam, which is a pleasing experience.
